30 Package of Big Chocolate Bars, got 4 Packages, let me see yes that would be 120 Bars
of them.
I did go Chocolate Shopping on Saturday as you can see from the pictures. Had so much Fun. There was so much to choose from. Yes I did get the Platoon that I was assigned to allot. No I did not eat a bite of it. Sure did smell and look so Delicious, very Tempting to me. But this is Lent and I was not giving in. Even Mike who is a Diabetic offered me money for a couple of the Kit Kat bars, but I turned him down, for he is not allowed to have sugar. Sorry Mike! So everything was packed on Sunday, on Monday I wrote a letters to put in each Package to the Head of the Platoon and to the Platoon it self, thought that would be nice to also have them receive a Letter from Home. Then on to the custom papers, finish taping the packages up real good, so no Chocolate falls out and Nothing got in there to help them selves to it. Then On Tuesday off to the Post Office and sent it on its way. There was a Gentleman in there with his wife he helped me by opening the door to let me in and put the packages on the counter, he said to me "what do you have in these gold"? I said "NO , but in a way Yes for it is chocolate for the soldiers". He then asked "Oh for your your Son" I Said "No, it I volunteer with an Organization and they are having a Campaign for Last Call For Chocolate for after April no more chocolate can be sent for it is too hot over there." The wife then came over and put one of my packages on the counter and started to talk to me, asking questions of exactly what I do and do I have to pay for it? and on and on. I told them that I adopt Soldiers, Platoons, and I am a Pen Pal, and also write letters to "Our Fallen Heroes" families and friends." His wife asked what that was and I told her that when a Soldier gets killed over there I am told and I send a letter and a very nice sympathy card to the Family . Then her and her Husband said"keep up the great work wish more people were like you" I said "Thank you", thinking to myself why didn't they ask how they could help too? Then the Post Master said "these sure are heavy, and Thank you so much for what you are doing for all of our troops, you are a wonderful person to be doing all of this"
Again I said "Thank you". Then he asked if I needed any stamps, I said "Yes the Purple Heart ones Please" he gave me the receipts for the packages and stamps and said "I know that I will be seeing you soon" I just smiled and left. Yes Tuesday seemed to be a Great Day for me and made me rather Proud of myself to have the Honor to do what I do for our Troops. I honestly do know how much they appreciate all.
Well that is it. So glad to get the Chocolate sent over to the Platoon, for it was honestly starting to Tempt me.
Have to go. Taxes to get done, Oh About a few weeks ago.
