What A Wonderful Sunday 4-17-11

Woke up very early went down stairs and made my strawberry Shortcake coffee , oh how great that is. Having reservations for the Art Museum to see Capucci and Chgall. Oh I was so excited could not wait, and the weather was just beautiful. Mike mad great pancakes for break fast, and cleaned up the kitchen, oh what a wonderful husband he is. Then we got ready to go, Mike walked shiloh before we left for we knewwe would be home late for we were also going to have dinner with my sister and brother in-law at one of my very favorite restaurants, the PUB. But we had to stop at ACME and make a return for I bought some items that was not what I expected them to be, so back they went. Finally on our way to the Art Museum. I was excited just like a little kid for I could not wait to get there, especially to see the Marc Chgall exhibit. When we got there the parking was closed so they had us park elsewhere, which was allot better, right in front of the back steps of the Museum. In we went a big smile on my face to the Will Call Center to get our reserved tickets, they are free because we are members but you still have to make a reservation for the exhibits there. Nope do not have a clue as to why ! So off we went to the snack lounge, for my sugar was dropping and /I forgot to bring my candy with me, got a tiny cup of M&Ms for $1.78 not even an ounce, oh well no big deal better then dropping to thefloor from my sugar dropping. Then on our way to Roberto Capucci, Fashion Designer. We got our head phones and in we went. I think my excitement about this exhibit turned into a big disappointment. The dresses where quite different, I did like one of the gowns and onedress that looked sort of like a butterfly. All was very colorful mostly in all shades of purples and oranges. There was one dress I could swear I saw it at Wood Stock, HA HA, HA. The dresses were very geometrical, and reminded me of things that when I was younger we used to make out of paper and put allot of pleats in the paper to make sort of fans. So finally that was over and out we went and I mean out of the museum to catch the Pearlman Trolly to go to the Chagall exhibit. WOW when I walked in there my favorite painting of his was right in front of me it was called "Half Past Three" This was one of my main reasons for going over there Sunday I wanted to buy this print framed, meant to do it the last time we were there but Mike said "it will be here we'll get it the next time" Wish I didn't listen to him for they were out of stock, very big disappointment to me. The Chagall exhibit was Miraculous, oh how I loved it, he went into his paintings of him and his wife prior to her death from a severe viral disease. I learned so much about this artist and his life it amazed me. So after going through that and we were in there quite a while for I just love his work it is honestly something else. Any way we then went and had lunch, Mike had a hoagie he bought on Saturday from the firehouse to support them, and I had some sea salt potato chips and we each had a soda. Got finished eating went through the gift shop to see what I could buy of Chagall, but Mikes said "let's go back to the Main Art Museum and see what they have" So back on to the trolly and when we got there offto the large Art Shop we went. No they did not have the picture I wanted to buy, but I was allowed to order it and they will ship it to me. Then I bought a framed print done by Chagall called OhGod, I fell in love with this when we at the Pearlman Building for the exhibit. Mike nought me a Chgall book all about his painting, life and some of his poetry, yes he was a poet also.
So here are some of the Art Work I bought or Ordered

This is the framed Print called OH GOD I bought, honestly do love it allot. Yes it is out of the ordinary but it caught my eye and it seems as if Mike likes as much as I do.
One of His books about a Painting that they Had on Exhibit there
called as the Exhibit was called
Paris Though The Window

The Print Half Past Three that I ordered. My Very Favorite Painting of his
This is the painting of Paris Through The Window. It is so detailed, and the Woman telling about this painting was fantastic she told about almost every inch of it, Extremely Interesting and was worth listening to her for every minute she spoke of this painting. What a wonderful story behind this one.
After all this excitement at the Art Museum, we went over to my Sister's home and visited her for a while, for we were supposed to meet at the PUB at 5:p.m. so with it being about 3:55p.m. we stopped in to visit. We watched some TV, saw the Phillies win their game and saw Jimmy Johnson win NASCAR at Talladega. It was a nose to nose win. Mark he was in 2nd but ended up coming 8th. Then my sister gave me a couple presents, 2 beautiful packet books, oh how much I love them, she brought tears of happiness to my eyes. Then they got ready and we all got in our own cars and off to the PUB we went. I had of course the Salmon as my sister did too, Mike ordered a half rack of baby-back ribs the waiter brought him a full rack, and my brother in-law has the blackened Talapia. We all had such a pleasant and enjoyable time. Thanks D.S. and S. S. honestly had a very relaxing and delightful evening spending time with you two.
Well that was it, then when leaving we went over to my car to show the Framed Print that I bought to my Sister she liked it. I must say that my sister knows art for she is a wonderful artist herself.

Finally back home to the :Little House In The Wood" Shiloh was so happy to see us, she went running all around outside then inside. Finally she tuckered out and we all got ready for bed and went night night. Yes it was a fabulous Sunday, I will always remember for quite a while.
