The weekend with the HORRIFIC Temps in the High 90's about 96-99 with the heat index being reported as 112 degrees and yes it sure did feel like it. But yes we made the very best of it for on Saturday we went to the Art Museum to see the Exhibit The Late Renoir. I must say it was the most fabulous art work I have seen, for I do love his work so much. I really wish in a big way I would have had sister there with me, for there were some paintings that were being shown that reminded me of her and I as we were growing up. She is going to see it at a later date, so she will know what I meant when I told her that I wished she was there with me. How ever Mike and I had a terrific time, it was at a very pleasant temp in there. Prior to going to the Renoir Exhibit we stopped and looked at this 1500's Exhibit, definitely will be going back to see the rest of that one, for it was amazing. Having allot to do with Christianity.
Learning about Renoir's later years in his Life was so exciting, and enjoyable, also a bit sad, for he had suffered with Arthritis so badly, but insisted on going on doing his paintings and sculpturing. They even showed a black and white film of Renoir in his later years, laughing and having a good time with his friends. No there was not any sound, but was very good to be able to see the Man, the ARTIST, that did all of this miraculous ART WORK. To learn that allot of his models for his Paintings were either of his Children, other Family Members, or his Staff that took care of his Home. I can not wait till we go back there again, for as I have said before and will say again "there is so much to see and we have not really even put a dent into seeing all of it, for there are other buildings yet to accomplish to see that are full of magnificent Art." Think we will be spending allot of our Vacation Time over there since we both enjoy it so much. Oh I can never be able to thank my sister and brother in-law for this wonderful gift of ART, a Membership to the Museum. Yes this I really have to say is allot of HAPPINESS that came our way. Thank You so much DS and SS., for we are enjoying it so very much. Before leaving there , why of course we made a stop at both gift shops, Mike bought me a beautiful purple Renoir shirt, which I must say was very nicely done. Ten we went to the cafe there and had lunch. It was quite delicious, for Mike had the Penne Pasta and I had a blueberry muffin and a Raisin Scone. Mike tasted my scone, so yes I went back and got him one and I just had to have another blueberry muffin, for oh they were so delicious, have never tasted a muffin that great. Then went to one other gift shop but mostly just looked around in there. Finally back to the Little House In The Woods. We were both a little tiered so we took a nap, Shiloh took one with us too, guess she was tiered from taking care of our home. Oh how happy she was when we did arrive back here, as we were too.
Then on Saturday evening we went food shopping, and well today why of course we watched NASCAR, The Brickyard 400. Now you know we would never miss that. Well I best go get ready to go to sleep now . I certainly do hope all had a very nice Weekend as we did. So to All I Say One Thing
